Wow, look at all the dust!

Comrade and fellow smart-ass Heath seems to think I’ve been remiss in my posting.¬† Well, he is quite astoundingly correct.¬† Not much for it.

I took on more than I could chew with my internal work blogs, external work blogs, school, and other writing projects.¬† I’ve been doing some realignment with a new job at work, committing to NaNoWriMo for November, and just generally doing a Fall sweep on things.

Step One here has been getting the dust out of the blog.  Hell, I had to go recover my password for the site it had been so long.  I also see I need to update some software, and address a bug or two left over from the original installation.

Once I knock that off, I’ll nail down the content for this blog.¬† So many topics rattle around in my head, I think that lack of narrowed scope has been part of my problem.¬† I should get that done by end of the month so posting during NaNoWriMo won’t take much effort.

Rambling done for now.  Goal was to get a new post up.  As our President once famously said: Mission Accomplished!

Some people never learn

…and I am one of those. Way back before the interweb was open to the great unwashed masses I ran a computer bulletin board system (BBS) in Arizona called first SHO-TRON, then The Rock Garden. It was on this BBS where I first learned the dangers of yammering about things upon which I had any sort of a quasi-formed opinion. I came, I wrote, and it kicked my ass.

I learned to keep my big mouth shut for the most part. Then a year or so ago a coworker talked me into starting a blog on my company’s internal blog site and yea, verily, did history up and repeat itself. I nearly got myself fired, created quite a mess, and became fascinated with the whole blogosphere. It’s the great-great-grandsomething of parts of the BBSes I used to use, and I still have no idea what I should talk about.

Fortunately that doesn’t usually slow me down. Now I’m setting up a wordpress blog on my long neglected web site, and we’ll see what happens. Should be amusing if nothing else.
